This Tiny Space is My New Studio

I just signed a lease for a new studio [Music] [Applause] means I can finally get the get denza moved out of this room soon at the end of the month the new studio it's pretty small space it's tiny the ceilings are the biggest issue for me they're not that high they are maybe about as high as the ceilings in this room which is a little over eight feet um why am I going into a space that is less than ideal for me I need a studio I need to be able to have a place where I can book clients without being annoying to other people and having to schedule to use their studio for me this is the right move it is it's a necessary move and I have to make it work I'll be working very hard as much as I'm working very hard on this channel right now posting a video every day we're all going to benefit from it the great thing about this studio is that it's in the same complex where I've been shooting for a number of years the same complex where my gallery show is currently hanging so this studio is well it's almost ready they have to move event get rid of the vent patch up the wall it's 321 square feet like I said it's it's small it's tiny but the complex is massive when I shoot there I very regularly shoot outside I shoot within the building I I use all aspects of it so having the space gives me the ability to set a calendar up that I can sync to my studio management system so that clients can can book me it will also give me the ability to most importantly do more test shoots I need to be able to test and produce more work I can't do that right now I can't do that without a studio having the studio will allow me to create more work and advertise my services to Art buyers art producers and the people that I am looking to have hire me I have a mailing list that goes out every month I want to be able to create new work for that mailing list if I can't create new work I just send out images from old and existing work it will also allow me to do more tutorial videos for this channel I'm also playing to do one-on-one workshops and small class workshops for people who are interested in learning about Studio lighting making sure that they're learning the skills that they need and I'm not just going in and doing a setup and having them take some photos I really want to work with people and help them learn and develop their skills so stay tuned for that that's something I'm going to be offering in the near future I do have work to do on the studio I'm I'm gonna have to paint the walls I'm going to be paying the walls dark so that I can shoot diagonally across the space and give me a longer Shot line and more separation for my clients from the backdrop and more distance from me to the client and that gives me a lot more flexibility so having the walls right now are pretty bright and so being able to darken them up will give the perception of Greater depth and so that's a primary focus for me in terms of how I'm going to decorate the space honestly there's not much space to decorate so it's going to be pretty simple it's going to be this table it's going to be some paint it's going to be some backdrops a couple of Lights a couple of chairs and a small table that's about it and then I'll be using the space that I have to set up and create shoots um that force me to be creative within the confines and limitations of the space that I that I have available to me I'm also starting to connect with and identify uh and and explore that the idea of what it means for me to be an artist and so having having a studio that allows me to explore that and dig into that side of who I am is going to be very important for my career and and me moving forward so I'm pretty excited for that subscribe to the channel to see videos and tutorials that are going to be coming up you know stick around stay tuned
