Affiliate Disclaimer
Last updated: April 2026
Studio Builder is reader-supported. When you buy through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission at no extra cost to you. This page explains what that means, how it works, and how it affects the content we publish.
What Is an Affiliate Link?
An affiliate link is a specially tracked URL that lets a retailer or software company know that a visitor came from our site. When you click one of these links and make a qualifying purchase, we receive a small commission — typically between 2% and 10% of the sale price, depending on the program. The price you pay is identical to what you would pay if you navigated to the retailer directly. You do not pay more because you came from Studio Builder.
Not every link on Studio Builder is an affiliate link. Many links point to resources, tools, and references that carry no commission. We link to them because they are useful, full stop.
Our Commitment to Honest Recommendations
Our editorial process starts with the product or service, not the commission rate. We evaluate gear, software, and business tools based on their merits — real-world performance, pricing, support quality, and fit for the working photographer. Affiliate relationships are established after we have decided something is worth recommending, not the other way around.
We do not accept payment to alter review scores, write favorable comparisons, or suppress negative findings. We do not allow advertisers or affiliate partners to preview, edit, or approve content before publication. If a product has meaningful drawbacks for photographers, those drawbacks appear in our coverage regardless of whether a commission is involved.
If our opinion of a product changes — because a company changes its pricing, degrades a feature, or fails to support customers — we update or remove our recommendation. Our affiliate relationship with that company is irrelevant to that decision.
Which Programs We Participate In
Studio Builder participates in several affiliate and referral programs, including but not limited to:
- Amazon Associates — for camera bodies, lenses, lighting, and accessories available through Amazon.
- Photography CRM and studio management software — programs operated by platforms including HoneyBook, Sprout Studio, Dubsado, Táve, and similar tools reviewed in our CRM section.
- Photography education and e-commerce platforms — including platforms used to sell presets, courses, and templates.
- Camera and lens retailers — select specialist retailers that carry gear featured in our reviews and comparisons.
This list is not exhaustive. New programs are added when we cover new products or categories. All commissions are disclosed in compliance with the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials.
